View moreTo run.. what a great pleasure ¡ Until just a few weeks ago it was something ordinary that we took for granted, a great way to disconnect and have fun… and it has now become something we are all dying for, we can’t wait to be able to start running again. But we will soon be able to do so.
From Salto Systems 15k San Sebastian we really hope you are all doing ok . We are aware these are really difficult times, but we can’t do anything else but to stay at home so that this situation changes and becomes part of our past. Stay strong ¡
As we said before, we are confident we will soon be back running, having fun outdoors and feeling that unique sensation we all have when running. On Sunday October 18th, when we are quite sure all this will have become part or the past, we will be holding a new edition of the popular Salto Systems 15k San Sebastian.
We were planing to open registrations a couple of weeks ago, but we haven’t done it yet as we want to wait a bit longer till all this is over and you can start thinking about taking part in and registering for running events. As in 2019 this year there will also be 3 distances to choose from: 5k, 10k and 15k
You will soon be hearing from us again with some more news ¡ In the meantime, stay strong and take good care of yourself ¡

View moreLast Sunday 3500 participants enjoyed the Salto Systems 15klasikoa Donostia/San Sebastián.
3500 runners, roller skaters and handbikers took part in race. We hope you really enjoyed it and we want you to keep a nice memory. For us it was really hard work but we made it and we enjoyed it too. And it was thanks to you. It was wonderful !!!
At our Facebook page, you can find a wide photo gallery containing around 300 images of the race. You can also find pictures at our website, as well as videos of the start and finish line as well as km5 and km10. You can look for yourself there. Moreover, Marathon- photos offers custom photographs that you can purchase at their website.

View moreFrom Fly Group and the Athletics Federation of Gipuzkoa, organizers of 15K Salto Systems San Sebastian, we would like to thank all those people who have taken part and helped us last Sunday, turning it into a great success and a big sports party. Without all the runners, roller skaters, hand bike and wheelchair participants, volunteers, judges etc, this would not have been possible.
Special thanks to all participants as well as Salto Systems, San Sebastian Council, Diputacion of Gipuzkoa, Eroski and Aguas Añarbe for helping us turn this race into a highly sustainable event.

View moreThis year for the first time you will be able to get ready for the Behobia-San Sebastian running together with the same pacers. It is the best possible test for you.
Salto Systems 15Klasikoa on 20th October will have pacemakers for the first time. And they will not be just any pacers. They will be the same pacers who will be pacing the Behobia San Sebastian a few weeks later.
We are convinced that taking part in the 15k three weeks earlier is the best way to train for the Behobia. This is why both organisations have agreed to share the same pacers. It will be your perfect training.
The 15k has had different start boxes corresponding to time goals for several years, but it had never offered pacers before. This year there will be seven of them. The fastest one will run at 4min/km and the slowest one will take runners at 6min/k. There will be pacers for all kind for runners:
- Pacer 1: Behobia: 1h20 / 15K: 1h00.
- Pacer 2: Behobia: 1h26:40 / 15K: 1h05.
- Pacer 3: Behobia: 1h33:20 / 15K: 1h10.
- Pacer 4: Behobia: 1h40 / 15K: 1h15.
- Pacer 5: Behobia: 1h46:40 / 15K: 1h20.
- Pacer 6: Behobia: 1h53:20 / 15K: 1h25.
- Pacer 7: Behobia: 2h / 15K: 1h30.
The best test
Before running the 20kms from Behobia to San Sebastian, there is no better test than to take part in Salto Systems 15Klasikoa in San Sebastian. A great race and a great distance in order to test yourself just 3 weeks before the race. You can do it in a measured route where you will be able to check your pace for Behobia. It is definitely your best option.
It is the best possible test for Zurich Donostia - San Sebastian Marathon as it shares a big part of the route and it will help you improve your performance on 24th november

This year, Salto Systems 15 Klasikoa San Sebastian offers a great variety of services. For the first time, there will be pacers for the 15k distance. They are going to be the same pacers as in Behobia -San Sebastian , which turns this race into the the best test to prepare the Behobia. Also, 95% of the race goes along a traffic- free route, avoiding sidewalks where other popular races usually go.
Near the finish line there will also be showers and bag storage service. We can also say that we are offering a sustainable race as we have developed different actions in collaboration with San Sebastian council.
Moreover, in collaboration with Real Sociedad Fundazioa, we are going to set up a playing area with bouncy castles at Anoeta Mini Stadium. This way, the youngest ones will be able to play and have fun with their families while their parents run. And they will be able to watch and cheer them as they cross the finish line.

View moreSport is universal. In SALTO 15k when we talk about sports we do not distinguish between men and women or between sports and adapted sports. The important thing is what moves us, the desire to overcome our difficulties and to overcome that "laziness" when it comes to putting our shoes on and going for a run. This is clearly reflected in our events and our actions:
• Accessibility: An event with an inclusive vocation where adapted sport is part of the race.
• Women and equality: We join the project 50/50/25 together with Behobia/SS and Donostia Marathon, in order to obtain parity participation by 2025.
• An event to enjoy with the family: a series of games will be set up in the finish area for the youngest members of the family so that they can enjoy the race and share a running day with their parents.

Running for health

Most of the studies on running highlight the fact it is a type of physical exercise that contributes to disease prevention and longevity. Specifically, in a US study published last March in the journal Progress in Cardiovascular, it was stated that runners have a 30% lower risk of premature death and are 45% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease than sedentary people. In addition, regular runners can extend their life expectancy to up to three years.
Also, some scientists have also proved that running has a positive effect on mental health. According to specialist of sports and health Julien Shipman running "has an impact on the mind thanks to the secretion of endorphins, hormones which provide a sense of well-being."
In SALTO 15K we are aware of these benefits, but we understand that not everything is suitable for everyone. This is why we offer different distances – 15k, 10k and 5k- so that each person can choose and adapt to their abilities and fitness. The goal is to provide the opportunity to enjoy running
